Eastern Idaho Bridal Magazine
When I started photography it was because I really needed a creative outlet as a SAHM. I’ve loved art my entire life. I graduated from college in it and I feel deep in my soul the need to create. With my little Canon Rebel and a 85 mm lens, I offered my services to a few brides for free and practiced. I’ve always been most attracted to wedding photography. Since October 2014, I’ve practiced and practiced with photography to be comfortable in any situation. I shoot now with a beautiful (almost divine) 5D Mark III and some pretty classy lens. I worked hard this last year to hone my skills. I scoured the web for answers to my questions. I challenged myself to learn something new everyday. I got a business license and figured out how to pay taxes. It was hard. I cried more than a few night with frustration, but I know that I want to be a photographer. I have never loved doing something (a job I guess) so much! This last year and a half has been a HUGE learning experience for me with mistakes, accomplishments, and finally feeling like I can call myself a photographer.
When I was contacted as a finalist in the cover for this year’s Idaho bridal magazine found in bridal shops around Eastern Idaho I was shocked. I didn’t remember “submitting” any work. The pictures was from the second bridal session I ever did at the end of 2014 and looking through the session again I could see all the mistakes I made. Chelsea and Jackson were amazing and I have loved working with them since, check out their mini winter session here. But I was learning exposure, composing, posing, and even getting images in focus during this first bridal session. However, Chelsea and Jackson are one of the cutest couples and you can see how beautiful they are together by the image that was chosen for this year’s bridal magazine. It a great honor to have my image featured.
Its been a learning experience looking back at that first session and seeing the progress I’ve made. I think its good to remind ourselves where we started with any skill we are learning. This year I am proud of the work I can provide. I am continually working hard to be better but I know I can deliver beautiful images.
I LOVE brides and I LOVE documenting couple’s love in beautiful settings. I think that love is the greatest adventure you could ever be on. I get so excited for my couple’s wedding days and look forward to being with them and capturing it.
I truly love this job.
Here’s a few from that session way back:
